Doncaster prep for
Triumph hope Swnymor
SWNYMOR is likely to complete his Cheltenham Festival preparation at Doncaster next week before lining up in the JCB Triumph Hurdle.
Trained by Tim Vaughan, Swnymor looked set to take his record to two wins from as many starts over hurdles at Chepstow last month when falling at the final flight in the Grade 1 Coral.co.uk Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle.
The four-year-old had previously been an impressive winner at Newbury on his debut for Vaughan and the trainer is keen to give his runner a confidence-boosting win.
Writing on his website, Vaughan said: "Swnymor is in great form at home and I am very keen to get him to the racecourse in the next week for a confidence booster following his fall at the last in the Finale Hurdle at Chepstow last month.
"We had given him an entry in the at Haydock Park on Saturday but that has just come a little too quick as we missed a bit of work after Chepstow and, in any case, following discussions with owner Carl Hinchy this week we have come to the decision that we would rather find a slightly easier task for him on what will be his final start before the Triumph next month.
"Doncaster on Wednesday is therefore our first preference, though we will also give him an entry at Warwick on Friday."
Swnymor is a general 14-1 chance for the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.
